Von Maur sets opening of store

Alabama's newest department store is set to open its doors to the public at Riverchase Galleria November 2. This is Von Maur Department stores first location in Alabama.

The three-level, 185,000 square foot store is located at the mall's former Macy's location. It will eventually employ more than 200 associates. The store underwent a full reconstruction.

Von Maur is a family-owned business. It operates 27 stores and is committed to expanding one to two stores each year. In the past two years, it has opened two stores in Georgia.

Deputies had been searching since Doyle was reported missing from a home in the 1400 block of Glass Place near Morris at about 11:00 am Monday. His family was concerned that the Alzheimer's patient and may be trying to walk to a former residence in Trafford.More >>

A company that sells the suits, Disaster Recovery Services, provided the Ebola safety training course. First responders and medical workers are eligible to attend the course for free. The classes are also open to the public for $25. DRS president Patrick Nolan said his company received a lot of calls from people wanting PPEs.More >>
